Connexions Suffolk is a government-funded information, advice and support service that meets the needs of young people aged 13-19 (or up to 25 if they have extra needs).
Connexions Suffolk started in September 2001. It is an arms-length part of Suffolk County Council, though it is directly funded by, and accountable to, central government.
A key part of Connexions work is to provide information to students at key stages of their education using a range of publications delivered to them directly via their schools and colleges.
To work alongside the Connexions Communication Team and a focus group of young people aged 13-19 in designing and publishing a series of advisory booklets that enable students to make informed choices about their futures, at key stages in their education by providing them with easy to understand facts about the options available.
The Project Period: 2 years
A select group of ten young people who had expressed a demonstrable interest in publishing were invited to take part in a series of workshops alongside N8tiveMedia to formulate an overall design theme.
Outside of office hours a dedicated online forum kept the team in touch, as they swapped ideas and exchanged feedback. It was essential that the finished publications were attractive and accessible to the target audience; this collaborative approach made sure that happened.
In addition to a full print management service N8tiveMedia complemented the brochures with a dynamic content managed website that disseminated valuable information whilst supporting a vibrant online community of Connexions' clients.
Once the project was over N8tiveMedia offered career advice and support to team members who wished to learn more about the industry.
The delivery of advice, information and support to the target audience in a clear, accessible and contemporary manner.
Enhanced awareness of the Connexions brand across target age groups.
Generation of continuous feedback and interaction with the publications' readership.
Opportunities for valuable "Real World Learning" offered to 'Production Team' members.
“What impressed us all was the enthusiastic and professional way in which N8tiveMedia not only embraced the concept, but identified many of the issues that result from involving young people”
